Tyler Hugenberg, Duet Health’s Lead iOS Engineer is back from his trip to Apple’s Annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC17) in San Jose,CA. During his time at WWDC17 Tyler networked with iOS Engineers from Apple, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Adobe, and Oracle, but also had conversations about the exciting path healthcare tech is headed down with engineers working in start-ups much like Duet.
Healthcare was a large topic of discussion, although not as featured in the keynote sessions as in previous years. Third party device connectivity and interaction were featured, specifically the new features the Apple Watch will launch to determine and notify things like low blood sugar. There will also be more personalized goals surrounding personal fitness and well-being.
As expected, the keynote speakers and sessions did not disappoint. Hugenberg’s favorite sessions included a Virtual Reality Demo featuring Star Wars by ILM VFX Supervisor John Knoll and Epic’s Lauren Ridge and a demo featuring the Augmented Reality features implemented in iOS 11.
“Over all, it was a truly awesome experience that I am honored to be a part of. I am back with a notebook full of technical notes and a ton of inspiration!” Hugenberg said.
