MedData Hires Dr. Robert Wagner as Senior VP of Medical Affairs

Brecksville, OH (Nov. 1, 2018) – MedData, a MEDNAX (NYSE: MD) company and a leading provider of patient-facing financial services for hospitals and health systems, has named Dr. Robert Wagner as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs.

Throughout his career, Wagner has brought an innovative touch to building end-to-end clinical revenue cycle solutions including: medical necessity compliance, denials management, coding and billing, clinical documentation improvement, care and utilization management, denials and appeals, practice management, physician advisory services, and physician leadership.

Emily Fisher, president and chief operating officer of MedData, said Wagner’s breadth of expertise and years of experience in emergency medicine will benefit all levels of the organization as well as add tremendous value for its clients.

Wagner has a background of working with healthcare organizations of all sizes, building consensus to integrate the revenue cycle, IT, coding, compliance, informatics, and care and utilization management to provide sound clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

Before joining MedData, Wagner was a partner in the Consulting Services Division at Schumacher Clinical Partners (SCP). He was the first chief medical information officer for SCP, and prior to that he led the Care Management Division of the Schumacher Group. Rob also has served as chief medical officer at a leading revenue cycle management and population health solutions company, leading the physician advisory service and managing all aspects of the clinical revenue cycle.

Wagner is a practicing, residency-trained, board-certified, emergency physician with over 25 years of experience in emergency medicine, including roles as medical director in both large academic and community hospitals serving both adult and pediatric patients. He has served in various leadership roles and on various committees as well as a clinical instructor for both the Georgia and Florida Colleges of Emergency Physicians.
