Draper, UT (Jan. 17, 2019) – MedData, a MEDNAX (NYSE: MD) company and a leading provider of technology-enabled management services for hospitals and health systems, today hosted a grand-opening celebration for an office in Draper, Utah, that will better accommodate future growth in multiple service lines.
MedData leaders and employees were joined by members of local and regional government during the special event, including leaders from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), Draper City, and the Draper Area Chamber of Commerce.
This expansion is the latest example of MedData’s impact on the state economy. In 2013, the MedData family of companies entered a multi-year agreement with the GOED to add more than 300 new jobs paying at least 125% of Salt Lake County’s average annual wage, including benefits. Over the lifetime of the agreement, MedData will pay out more $215 million in new state wages.
“This state-of-the-art office has the improved space and latest technology we need to better help our clients and their patients handle the many financial challenges in today’s modern healthcare environment,” said Emily Fisher, president and COO of MedData. “We are delighted to think how expanding our operations in this wonderful Utah community will enable us to make a tremendous difference in the lives of so many others across the country.”
The four-story, more than 41,000-square-foot office can accommodate 360 employees. The new center has a modern look and feel with large, high-tech workstations for employees. Other features include advanced training facilities, spacious meeting and conference rooms, top-notch amenities, and plentiful space for future growth.
MedData’s business continues to grow, and its previous facility in Draper was near capacity with more than 230 employees – so, scalability is essential to the company’s future. The additional capacity in the new office aligns with the company’s long-term vision to expand its Medicaid Eligibility, Disability, A/R Services, and Third Party Liability service lines. With the spacious new facility, now MedData will be able to grow as its clients’ businesses grow.
“Our confidence in the Utah market made this an ideal opportunity for an investment of this magnitude,” Fisher said. “A world-class office located in such a vibrant community will allow us to continue to attract and retain premier talent. We are excited about the direction our business is headed and eager to share a prosperous future with the entire region.”
